This code generator will create a registration code for the door game High
Seas Armada versions 3.0 and above by Steve Sharpe.

To register the game, run the DOS executable file HSAREG.EXE. Enter your BBS
name and SysOp name exactly as you want them to appear in the door. The
utility will provide a registration code.

The code must be entered into the game's configuration file(s). Multi-node
BBSes will likely have a separate configuration file for each node. Each one
of these files will need to be updated. The default name of this file for
single node systems is GAME.CFG.

The registration code can be entered by manually editing each configuration
file with any text editor or by using the game's configuration editor.

Manually Editing Configuration File(s)
--------------------------------------

Use any text editor to open the configuration file. Edit the file so it
contains the following five lines:

High Seas Armada
<Path and name of door dropfile>
<BBS name used in the code generator>
<SysOp name used in the code generator>
<12-digit registration code>

NOTE: This game does not perform any 'cleanup' of the data it reads from the
configuration file. Extra spaces at the end of a line or extra empty lines at
the end of the file will cause the registration to fail. Use care when
manually editing configuration files.

Using The Game Configuration Editor
-----------------------------------

The game's built-in configuration editor can also be used to edit a
configuration file. Start the editor by running:

  HSACONFG.EXE SETUP

The first data field is the name of the configuration file to edit. Type in
the name of the configuration file and press <ENTER>. If the file already
exists, the data currently in the file is loaded into the fields. Re-enter
any of the fields which need updating or press <ENTER> to accept the current
value. Once all of the fields have been entered, the editor will present a
second page of game options. Press <ENTER> for all fields on the second page
to leave those values as they are currently set. The configuration file will
automatically be saved and the configuration editor will exit.

NOTE: Do not use the arrow keys or <HOME>/<END> when editing a field. Use
only <BACKSPACE> to delete data from the field you are currently editing.
Press <ESC> to abort the editor if a field has been entered incorrectly, then
re-run the editor and start again.
